Parkview Pride Character Education kicked off this month with our first character trait: "Self-Worth - I Am Important." Self-worth is the internal sense of being good enough and worthy of love and belonging from others. How we treat ourselves is how we teach others to treat us. ❤

Good evening, PV Parents! I am reaching out to share information about Parkview's Bucket Filler Program which focuses on building good character by encouraging students to fill other people's buckets with kind words and actions. This year, Parkview will embark on its eighth year of filling buckets! It's hard to believe it's been that long; the program continues to resonate with students and leads them to maintaining or developing positive character. In addition to Bucket Filling, we are also introducing Parkview Pride Character Education this year. Parkview staff have chosen character traits we feel will help our students grow socially and emotionally in order to reach their greatest potential. Our character traits will be taught in class meetings held on Mondays of each week. We will kick off Parkview Pride next week! Please visit with your child later in the month and ask them to tell you about September's character trait: Self Worth, which will be explained to our youngest students as "I am Important." Many of you have asked how you can get involved and help us in our quest to meet the social-emotional needs of our students. If that appeals to you, please read this letter and consider joining us as a Bucket Filler sponsor. All funds stay at Parkview and are used to provide quarterly incentives for bucket filling and purchase program supplies and prizes which students may buy with Dragon Dollars in the Dragon's Den. We are excited to expand our efforts to help our students and are committed to providing students with the best education we are capable of providing. As always, we thank you for your support! This Friday, August 26, Cameron High School is hosting a softball tournament that begins at 12 noon. Softball game attendees will be parking in other locations to allow our PV parents to access the parking lot to pick up their children. Please be patient as someone may stop and ask you to verify why you are entering the parking lot. We also ask that you leave the playground as soon as you pick up your child to allow game visitors to park in the parking lot after dismissal. Thank you for your support! Good luck, Lady Dragons!
