Congratulations to Laura Janovec, Cameron's Teacher of the Year! Laura is a 6th grade English teacher at CVMS and is in her 10th year of teaching. Laura will represent the Cameron District in the fall competing for 2020 Regional Teacher of the Year.

Thank you Cameron R-1 Food Service, Durham Bus Service and staff volunteers! Together you prepared and delivered 2,964 meals last week, and will provide an additional 4,775 this week. Proud to be a Dragon!
After thoughtful consideration, the Cameron School District will remain closed through May 1st, 2020. Principals in each building will be sending out a letter detailing how "school" will operate during this time.
Effective 3/30 IN TOWN MEALS will be delivered to corner stops only. Please send 1 person with a container for us to place the meal in. Questions about the stops? Call the bus barn 632-2421. A list of stops will be provided prior to Monday morning. Thank you for your support!

Cameron will not be in session March 18 thru April 3. This change is precautionary as we do not have evidence of the situation. It was reported a student was in proximity of a person tested for COVID19. The possible contact occurred off campus and has not been verified by CDC.
Our top priority is the health and safety of our students and staff, and we take this responsibility very seriously. Under the guidance of the Center for Disease Control (CDC), the Cameron R-1 District will cancel all classes, extracurricular practices, and school sponsored events Thursday, March 19th through Friday, April 3rd. We understand this will be an inconvenience for some families and we hope that this will allow you time to make arrangements for your childcare needs. On or before April 3rd, a decision will be made to extend the closure or resume scheduled classes and activities.
Parent Teacher Conferences scheduled for Thursday, March 19 will proceed as scheduled, but based on guidance offered by the CDC, face-to-face conferences will not be held. Teachers will conference via telephone. If parents have a scheduled conference time, or IEP meeting scheduled, you should anticipate a call from your child’s teacher at the scheduled time.
More information concerning student meals and plans for academic instruction will be provided at a later date. We appreciate your patience and cooperation in working with the district through this challenging and unprecedented situation.
