Attention Cameron Families:
Summer School for the Cameron School District is quickly approaching. If you have been on the fence about sending your student(s) to Summer School now is the time to make the decision. On Wednesday May 10th, Mr. Lannigan will be looking at enrollment numbers to make final staffing decisions. The number of students enrolled this year is lower than the last few years, so that means at this point less staff is required. What does that mean for you? Once staff numbers are cut down, there will be a cap placed on enrollment. Any students enrolled after May 10th may not be allowed to attend.
To avoid this dilemma, please use the appropriate link below to enroll your student(S) ASAP. If you have already filled out one of these forms prior to today 5/8, then you are good to go. This is a great opportunity to avoid the educational back slide from summer break. If you have an incoming Kindergartener, this is a fun way to introduce them to what it is like to be a Cameron Dragon. Traditionally, Kindergarteners that have attended summer school have entered the school year on day one more prepared to be successful.

Dear Parents and Guardians,
Bus Number 6 was delayed due to a discipline issue. The issue was a student in possession of a box cutter. Upon notification, the driver reported the incident to the Bus Barn, and law enforcement was notified. Both the Cameron Police Department and School Police Department proceeded to the Bus Barn. The student in possession of the box cutter was removed from the bus. To prevent students from further delay, students were reloaded and transported home.
Officer Palmer will continue the investigation tomorrow, but initial reports indicate that there were no threats made by the student in possession of the box cutter. If your child has information regarding the event, please ask them to share the information with their building principal. The Cameron District strives to provide a safe environment and is thankful for the quick response of the bus driver and law enforcement.
Sincerely,
Laurie Mefford
