For students entering grades 4-8, open house will be held from 6-7pm. 4-8 summer school will be held at CIS this year. This is a great opportunity to check transportation, meet your summer school teacher, and see where your summer school classroom is located. We look forward to seeing you all there.

C.I.S. attendance prize winners! Students received tickets for their attendance percentage. They put their tickets in buckets for the prizes they wanted to win. These lucky students had their tickets drawn! Thank you to the parents and children for your continued dedication to school! #DrafonNation

Mrs. Erickson’s and Ms. Pope’s classes enriched their inferencing skills by putting on their detective ties and solving case files. They read clues, gathered evidence, and made inferences using the clues provided and their schemas. Then, the students presented their case files to their fellow detectives to share their case-solving strategies. Lots of fun and problem solving while staying engaged in learning! #DragonNation

Polar Bear Simulation from last Wednesday in Ms. Pope's classroom. Students participated in a Project Lead the Way activity, where our classroom became the arctic tundra, and the students were polar bears. They had to travel from iceberg to iceberg in five steps, or less, with a maximum of two polar bears per iceberg. After each round they had to collect three pieces of food (the blocks) to survive-if they were unable to do this after the round was complete, they were in danger! In round two, due to environmental changes icebergs were split or melted-students got to experience the effect and they absolutely loved it. #DragonNation
