Petting Zoo

We are so excited to get back to our normal spring routine and offer our students some fun outdoor activities to enjoy!  This year we will happily bring back our Arbor Day activities and welcome a new event, the CHS FFA Petting Zoo!  Please review the following information regarding each activity and respond to your child’s teacher IN WRITING if you DO NOT want your child to participate.

  • K-2 students will walk to Recreation Park (two blocks) to participate in a traditional tree-planting ceremony.  Students in Kindergarten and 1st grade will plant their class tree, and 2nd grade will visit their class tree.  Cameron City Park employees will visit with students and educate them about their class tree and its growth.  Students will walk back to Parkview after their 20-minute session ends.

  • CHS FFA students will set up a small petting zoo on the Parkview campus for students to visit small farm animals and pets.  All animals will be properly contained and handled by high school students and supervisors.  Parkview students will be closely supervised to ensure student safety.  Featured animals will be a sheep, goat, chicken, calf, alpaca, miniature pony, puppies, and bunnies.  Students will also participate in two craft projects.
