Mr. Stickel

Mr. Jove Stickel was hired as the Cameron Veterans Middle School (CVMS) Principal and will start his tenure with the Cameron R-1 School District in mid-July. Mr. Stickel is not new to education.  He began his career with the Albany School District, where he taught social studies in middle school and high school.  A move to Camdenton R-III Schools continued his teaching career before moving to Higginsville, Missouri. Stickel most recently served as the middle school principal at Lafayette County C-1 Middle School. He has held this position since 2015.

During his time with the Lafayette County C-1 School District, he has focused on “building and sustaining a culture of leaders and learners and creating an atmosphere where relationships count.” Jove has repeatedly presented at state conferences and he was nominated for Regional Principal of the Year. In addition to these honors, he was invited to speak at Montclair State University to share his strategies and ideas for developing and maintaining a  positive school culture.

Mr. Stickel is very driven and we can’t wait to see him apply his experiences to expand the growth that CVMS has experienced. He has been described as “a passionate educator and a champion for all students wanting what is best for them”.  The district is excited to have Jove join the Dragon Family and hopes you join us in welcoming him to CVMS and the Cameron community. Mr. Stickel will succeed Dr. Tiffani Collins, who will be joining the Pleasant Hill R-III School’s administrative team in the fall.

The high school will also welcome a new administrator.  The current principal, Mr. Jones, recently accepted a superintendent’s position with the Stewartsville C-2 School District. In the fall, Mr. Jayson Erdman, Cameron Intermediate School (CIS)  principal, will make the move to the high school assuming Mr. Jones’s position.   Mr. Erdman has been with the Cameron R-1 School District since 2013. During his tenure, he has served the roles of middle school special education teacher,  and most recently, assistant and lead principal at CIS.
