REQUEST FOR VOLUNTEERS
On Friday, June 7th, Parkview students will be going on a fishing trip over to Hartell Conservation Area, which is 20 miles Southwest of Cameron off Hwy 33. This location is maintained by the Missouri Department of Conservation, and is a beautiful spot to walk, fish, and enjoy the amazing outdoors. The MDC will be providing fishing poles and they will be showing off different fish to our students while we are there. I am looking for parent volunteers that would like to assist with baiting hooks and casting rods. We will have over 270 students participating in this adventure so the more the merrier. The groups will be broken up as follows:
Kindergarten/1st Grade: will leave Cameron at 8:30 and arrive at Hartell by 9. They will fish/hike/snack from 9-10:30, then they will head back to school.
2nd/3rd Grade: will leave Cameron at 10 and arrive at Hartell by 10:30. They will fish/hike/eat lunch from 10:30 - 12:00, then they will head back to school.
I am hoping to have 25-30 volunteers per session to help keep things moving smoothly, and ensure that all of our students have a great experience. If you are willing to stay the whole time, that would be amazing. We will have water stations out there at the club house, which is air conditioned and has very nice bathrooms. In the unfortunate case of rain, the trip will be cancelled, and it will NOT be made up. There will be a notification sent out announcing the cancellation. Please friend “Parkview Principal” on Facebook or check the school website page at https://www.cameron.k12.mo.us/o/parkview-elementary.
If you are interested, please contact the Parkview office and let us know that you plan to attend. I will meet you out there at 8:45 prior to students arriving.
