On October 14, CVMS students and staff completed a lock down drill.
HALF DAY on October 24. Dismissal is at 12:30 pm. As a reminder, Student-Led Conferences are on October 24. CVMS doors open at 1 pm. Because conferences take about 30 minutes, we suggest arriving no later than 7:30 pm, as the building will close at 8 pm. What can you expect during this time? Students will be sharing their learning goals and data for their classes. Teachers will be available to touch base. Click here for the all new DTV Conference Video. Student-Led Conferences are different than Parent-Teacher Conferences. If you are interested in the traditional conference, please contact any grade level teacher and they will set up an appointment on a different day.
Flu shots are being offered at Student-Led Conferences. Please click here for details.
Socktober is well underway!!! Help us collect new pairs of socks!!! The grade level collecting the most pairs of socks will win a popcorn party during lunch.
The Scholastic Book Fair is coming!!! Use eWallet to allow your child to shop without having to carry a check or cash. eWallet allows you to put money into an online account, so your child can access it at checkout. You choose the amount to enter, and are only charged the amount your child spends. So easy. Check out how to set up an eWallet by finding the info on our Online Bookfair Page-https://www.scholastic.com/bf/cameronveteransmiddleschool1
Did you know you can access student grades at any time? As a result, CVMS does not send home paper copies of grade cards. To access grade information, login to PowerSchool for grade updates. Students also know how to login and can share with you their performance. If you have trouble with the program, please contact the front office. If you would like to request a paper copy of the grade card, please contact the office. The CVMS front office number is 816.882.1041.
NO SCHOOL on October 25 and October 28.
Mix It Up at Lunch Day will take place on October 22, 2019. Schools all over the country can participate in this. It is a simple call to action for students of all grades to sit next to someone new in the cafeteria. When encouraged to try something new, even if just for a day, it is helping them to bridge differences and build an important skill.
Science MAP scores will be sent home with 6th grade students at Student-Led Conferences on October 24. Scores not picked up on that day will be sent home with students on October 29.
