I want to remind those who need to have school pictures taken or would like to have theirs re-taken that SCH Photography will be at CHS on Friday, November 6th. SHC Photography will begin taking pictures at 7:15 am in the CHS gymnasium. Virtual students and A Day Face-to-Face students will need to enter through the Activities Entrance and report to the gym for pictures before 8:00 am. Masks are required except of course when having their picture taken. B Day Face-to-Face students will be dismissed to the gym for pictures via intercom starting at 8:05 am.
Thanksgiving Break Schedule

Lastly, if you received a letter from Food Service requesting an updated application, proof of income or additional documentation, please return the information at your earliest convenience. This application is used for more than just meal benefits. The information is used to charge for internet service for school, grants for equipment, funding for activities and so much more. Cameron High School will be hosting Parent/Teacher conferences a little differently this year due to COVID-19. All conferences will be held virtually through ZOOM or phone call on Thursday, October 29th from 1:00 - 8:00 PM. Teachers will be contacting you through email or phone call to schedule a virtual meeting time with you if they have concerns about your student(s). Parents may also schedule a time with teachers by contacting them via email or phone call. We ask that conferences be limited to 10 minutes to ensure we are able to meet with all our parents. NO SCHOOL for students on Thursday, October 29th and Friday, October 30th.
No School for Vo-Tech students at Grand River Technical School on Thursday, October 22nd, and Friday, October 23rd for Parent/Teacher conferences in the Chillicothe School District. Vo-Tech students will still attend class at CHS Thursday or Friday based on their scheduled face-to-face day. Students may be checked out after 4th period by a parent.
Class of 2021, our SPIN (Senior Parent Information Night) event has gone virtual this year. The counseling department is sending the virtual presentation to your Class of 2021 ICAP Google Classroom. Senior parents will also receive an invitation to view the presentation as well. The counselors will be available to answer any questions you may have by email or phone.
Lastly, if you have not yet picked up school pictures , they are available in the front office. SHC Photography will be back at CHS on Friday, November 6th for picture retakes. Virtual students and "A" Day face-to-face students wanting picture retakes will need to report to the gym at 7:15 am.

I know there have been questions about school pictures for virtual students. SCH Photography will begin taking pictures for our virtual students at 7:00 am on Thursday, August 27th. Images from this session will be used to make your school’s senior wall composite to be displayed at school. There is a required $15.00 sitting fee, which is due at the time these portraits are taken.
Your sitting charge includes an 8 x 10 copy of your senior class composite which you will receive near the end of the school year. Proofs will be provided of your photo and you may select the pose you prefer to be used for the yearbook and senior composite.

Sunset Graduation!
I hope everyone is doing well. I just wanted to let you know that we are still planning to have our "Sunset Graduation" on July 31st at 8:30 pm at the football stadium. We ask that you limit guests to 8 and that you practice social distancing in the stands. Graduates will also be seated to adhere to the social distancing requirements. There is a risk bringing a large group together and we completely understand if you do not feel comfortable in participating. I would greatly appreciate it if you would respond to my email: bjones@cameronschools.org by July 20th to let me know if you will be attending and how many quests so we can plan appropriately.
I would also invite any senior that would like to speak at graduation to submit their speech to me via email by July 20th. We will select 2 seniors to speak on behalf of the class of 2020 as part of the commencement ceremony.
Graduates will need to be at the football stadium in cap and gown the evening of graduation by 7:45 pm. We will quickly go over the ceremony with graduates in lieu of having practice.

Our Cameron Dragons will be in action tonight and tomorrow morning! The Football Jamboree will start at 6:00 this evening. The Softball team will take the field at 9 and 11 a.m. Volleyball will take the court at 10, 11, and 12 tomorrow morning. All games are in Cameron. Softball and Volleyball times will be approximate as games will start as others end.

A reminder that pictures will be tomorrow (8/22) for CHS students. Seniors will take their composite photos as well, there is a $15 sitting fee for the composites.

Scholastic Photography will be taking School Pictures in the morning of Thursday, August 22nd (all grades). Seniors will also have their Senior Composite picture taken that day...there is a $15 sitting fee for Senior Composites.

Black and gold games are Saturday starting at 9 am with volleyball and softball. Football will be after “Meet the Dragons” night starting at 6:00 pm! Come out and take a look at our fall sports athletes! Band will perform and cheerleaders will do a routine!

CHS School Pictures are scheduled for next Thursday, August 22nd at 8:15 am. Picture order forms are available in the front office. We will also be taking Senior Composites that morning. Seniors taking composite pictures will need to bring $15 for the sitting fee.

The CHS Staff would like to welcome students back tomorrow morning for the first day of the 2019-20 school year. Student schedules will be available in the commons if you have not already picked yours up. Students will report to the gym at 8:00am. We can't wait to see you!

Cameron High School would like to welcome Jeff Wallace! He comes to us from Plattsburg and will be heading up the Foreign Language lab. Coach Wallace will also be leading the football team! Cameron High School would like to welcome Mark Gordon for the upcoming school year. Mark comes to us from Plattsburg. Mr. Gordon will be teaching social studies. He will be helping coach middle school football and freshman boys basketball. Mr. Gordon’s hope for the year is that all students develop a passion for learning. Welcome Coach Gordon.

He will be teaching special education while helping coach HS football and MS basketball. The start of the 2019-20 school year is upon us, the CHS staff would like to invite you to our "Back to School" Night on August 13th from 5-7 pm. Come meet your teachers, complete student registration, and/or pay dues. We hope to see you there.

Cameron High School Registration is now available on the High School Website. If you have questions or need help completing registration, the building will be open Monday-Thursday (8/5-8/8) next week from 8am - 2pm. We will see you soon and enjoy the rest of your summer!

We are gearing up for the start of the 19-20 school year. Here you will find the school supply list by course. If your course is not listed, supplies will be discussed on the first day of class. The list is also available at Walmart. Online registration is tentatively scheduled to open on August 1st.

Summer weights starts Monday. Hs girls/guys can lift from 6:30-8 or 9-10:30! Middle school lifts from 8-9! Meet in Hs gym! What is your child doing this summer to make themself and their teammates better!

Congratulations to our first girls wrestling state qualifier. Celeste Greer came home with a 3rd place finish and will advance to state tournament in 2 weeks. Christina Herring took 4. The girls team got 8th out of 39 teams. Great season girls. Way to represent in the first year of girls wrestling in our State. Bright future for a lot of these girls!

Emergency Snow Routes for the Cameron R-1 School District were sent out via email. We do NOT plan to use Emergency Snow Routes tomorrow but want you to have them in case of future need. The routes will also be posted on the high school website.

St. Joseph News is incorrectly reporting a 2 hour delay today, Wednesday, January 16th for Cameron R-I. Classes at CHS will start at normal time and buses are running on normal schedules.

The Cameron High softball game for Sept 6 has been rescheduled to Monday, Sept 10th.

The Special Olympics Flag Football game and Girl's Tennis Match have been canceled due to rain.

Cameron High School students were given free/reduced lunch forms last Friday (8/24) to bring home and have returned to school by this Friday (8/31). We must have these forms filled out each year. If you have filled one out for another building you do not need to fill it out again...please just fill out the half sheet on front of the packet and return to school with your student. If you do not qualify, please check that box and return it to school with your student. If you have not yet completed the form, please do so and return it in the envelope provided with the lunch form by Friday. If you have any questions, please call the office at 882-1036.
