COVID-19 Symptoms

Dear Cameron R-I Students, Staff and Parents:

Tomorrow, August 27, 2020, we will embark on perhaps the most anticipated school year that anyone can remember. We are very anxious to begin school and excited to see students in the buildings once again! However, there are many unknowns and questions to be answered amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. In our “Return to Learning Plan” we have put into place

numerous strategies to provide an environment that we believe is safe for both our students and staff. We need your help! Please begin every day by reviewing your son or daughter for symptoms. If your child is possibly sick and/or showing COVID-19 symptoms, please keep them at home. The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education has granted school districts a one-year waiver on accountability for student attendance.

We know the Cameron R-I School District cannot prevent the possible transmission or contraction of COVID-19 for any individual. However, that should not stop us from taking proactive steps to mitigate the chance for contracting the COVID-19 virus and conducting school in person.

To prevent the spread of COVID-19 inside our buildings and enable us to offer a safe educational environment, restrictions not seen in previous years have been added. We believe the ability to teach our students is more than worth the extra precautions we have put into place.

Please continue to take the necessary precautions to remain healthy. Consider your own health as well as the health of those around you. Unselfish cooperation is critical to our success in keeping everyone well and safe. Thank you for your assistance and cooperation as we work through these unprecedented challenging times.
