Greetings from the Dragons’ Principal –
Cameron Veterans Middle School will soon launch its first official “First Day of School” on August 21, 2018. We are extremely excited about this new threshold of beginnings in our beautiful vanguard building. We look forward with anticipation to the many opportunities and successes that lie ahead for the 2018-2019 school year!
I had a boss that once told me that no matter how good you are doing, you can always get better. What a true statement! As a Professional Learning Community (PLC), CVMS’s mission statement “Learning for life...every student, every teacher, every day!” is the driving force for all of our decisions and defines who we are as an educational entity. To be sure, CVMS teachers and administrators are committed to living up to this mission both on and off school grounds.
Our vision statement defines our focus for improvement and what we continually strive to become. It reads: “CVMS will value and empower all by exemplifying learning, achievement, innovation, and leadership in a global community.” In efforts to make good on our improvement responsibilities, teachers at CVMS will continue to collaborate regularly, to examine student formative and summative performance data and to deliberate on best teaching/learning practices for each student. We have an amazingly talented staff committed to improving student achievement and to serving our school and community. On these tenets, you have our pledge for moving our vision forward.
Please use our website as a way to contact and communicate with our administrative team, and our staff of teachers. It is cvmsupdate.weebly.com. Your questions, comments and concerns are important to us. I will email updates throughout the year, so please be sure to keep an active email address on file through your student’s records. And keep your eyes on the Dragons in 2018-2019, as we live out our school mission and vision. We are good...but we’re about to become even better!
Proud to be a Dragon,
Mrs. Tiffani Collins
Learning for life...every student, every teacher, every day.
